About Us
At Alperton, as well as ensuring academic success, we recognize the need to prepare the students to be global citizens equipped for life in the 21st Century. The personal development, both moral and spiritual, required to meet this challenge is a task shared by parents and teachers. I believe this aspect of young people's learning, taking responsibility and participating in their community, is as important as the preparation for examinations. This is probably why behaviour was also graded as Outstanding by Ofsted!
A key skill for life in the 21st century is confidence and expertise in the use of new technologies. Digital Technologies are part of the every day experience of every student in the school. They are used in every subject and in all aspects of school life to enhance students' learning. Alperton is designated as a Specialist School for Mathematics and Computing. This means that we are the centre of excellence for Brent and nationally in Mathematics. We are also a centre of excellence in the Visual Arts. Our Art, Design and technology department is lead by one of Britain’s foremost modern artists and the work of our students is exhibited throughout Brent and in London more widely.
Students leave Alperton with an enthusiasm for learning and recognising that it is a lifelong process. The academic achievement is evident from the number of students entering university education including the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Universities and medical schools. Students of all backgrounds and abilities learn together in harmony and fulfil their potential because we are determined to provide equal opportunities and achievement for all.
